Some Lex Fellows describe the legal trainings as a “crash course of 1L”.
The intention of these trainings is to ensure that students leave Lex with mastery of the major 1L concepts, be ahead of the curve in terms of legal knowledge before entering law school, and succeed in their law school admissions and future legal career.
Prepare for law school success with an overview of 1L courses
Master 1L concepts.
Sprint ahead of the pack by learning about concepts covered in 1L courses from those best positioned to help you succeed: a Legal Associate with U.S. J.D. background, often from Harvard Law School.
Beat the law school curve.
The number of As given in each 1L class is determined before you even sit for the exam. Be among the select few who truly excel their first year by understanding the material early.
Succeed in your legal career.

Receive legal training from a dedicated Legal Associate, often a current law student at a top law school.
Lex Legal Associates conduct legal trainings that cover a variety of essential 1L topics including:

Surviving the 1L year
Extended Learning Opportunities
A component of Law School Training, Extended Learning Opportunities allow Fellows to reinforce what they’ve learned while on program with through reflection and practical application. This may include learning now to network with lawyers, creating or editing a resume and cover letter, receiving advice on preparing for interviews and applying for internships, participating in mock trails, working on practice problems, or debating with the cohort on relevant public policy issues. These sessions aim to improve soft skills such as public speaking, teamwork, and collaboration, and give students a social advantage in law school and other legal environments, such as legal internships and paralegal positions.

81% of students completing the Lex Fellowship report progress on the American Bar Association’s core skills, values, knowledge and experience.
“You should seek courses and other experiences that will engage you in critical thinking about important issues, challenge your beliefs and improve your tolerance for uncertainty and criticism… Your law school experience will develop and refine those crucial skills, but you must enter law school with a reasonably well developed set of analytic and problem solving abilities.”

There is no better resource for law school success than a law school student, which is why our Legal Associates come from top law schools.
“Some programs use law professors to prep you for the 1L year which is of much less value because they often give students many of the same suggestions as their [future] law professors. Why pay twice for the same advice?”
